Happy Friday everyone!
I don’t plan on making a habit of non-fiction, update type posts but I figured I’ve been quiet long enough that all y’all wonderful people deserve to know why and some things to maybe look forward to.
I started this Substack much earlier than I had intended because of the amazing sense of community I found here and I don’t plan on leaving any time soon. That being said, once the summer slowdown stopped affecting me here in the real world I haven’t had the chance to write in any sustainable way like I had hoped. I started August with the hopes to keep up with a 1,000 word/day challenge and I got about 2-3 days in before I completely fell off and now we’re well into September. Whoops. And now, on top of normal work stuff, I’m also in the process of a cross-country move sometime in the beginning of 2025. So all that to say, I don’t expect to have a whole lot to offer you wonderful people in the near future.
However, I do have the next installment of Turnip in Space that I’m (very slowly) working on and once it’s ready I’ll release it out into the aether. I have another story I’m working on but that’s a lot further out.
But while I’ve been slacking there are a TON of excellent authors here that have released books within the past month or so and I wanted to highlight them for 2 reasons. 1) If I don’t have things written down somewhere I’ll remember to find it I forget about things. 2) I wanted to make sure everyone was aware of these books that are now available. So , without further ado, here are the recent releases of the authors that I look up to here on Substack with all relevant links.
Note: This list is organized alphabetically by author’s last name. That’s how public schools taught me to prioritize things and it’s worked out pretty well for me. I’m pretty sure that means it’s unbiased. Yeah, anyway:
recently finished her book “Oceanus” and is now available in print or e-book form. Per Goodreads, “Oceanus is a futuristic thriller inspired by William Shakespeare’s The Tempest. If anyone is to find their way back home, the truth must be revealed. Oceanus tells a classic story of betrayal, forgiveness, love and deception. A suspenseful adventure story set in the 24th century.” wrote a book…on a whim?!? May we all aspire to that level of daring. Her book “Deep Curse” is about the discovery of a mermaid! And all the mystery and suspense that comes with it.“Arik Grayson has made the discovery of a life time. A mermaid living in the deep ocean. But Alyona shows him there is more to these beautiful sirens than he previously thought. Myths hidden in the real world.
Like ancient gods.
And curses.
And vengeful sisters.
Alyona’s sisters don’t want the curse broken, and they’re willing to do whatever it takes to stop Grayson and Alyona. As more people are hurt, Alyona is faced with a choice: Save herself or save her sisters.”

I’m super proud of all of y’all and I can’t wait to get my hands on all of these and more. The whole Substack community is so inviting and amazing. You all give me something to aspire to and I truly feel like I’m in the best company here.
While this is a long list of new releases, I still feel like I’ve forgotten someone! So, what do y’all think? Is there anyone you know who had a new release this summer/fall that I missed? Do YOU have a book coming out? Let me know! I would love to support y’all however I can. And that will start with editing this post to add anyone I might be missing.
Thank you for promoting my book! Also, a thousand words a day is tough! I shoot for 5 and see how far I get. haha
Thank you so much for the mention. Wow, congratulations to the published authors in this post! Amazing. And wow, 1000 words a day? That's impressive. Good luck with your move. Sounds like it's a big'un.
